Bernie Schallehn has been a drummer since the age of 14. A groove player, from the mid 1960s to the present he has performed with countless bands and solo artists. He is a versatile percussionist, proficient in most forms of music. A partial list of styles includes: rock, country rock, southern rock, country and western, jazz, R&B, funk, blues, Top 40, commercial, and wedding and party music. His venues have included bars, nightclubs, private parties and coffeehouses, as well as the concert stage for a U.S. Vice President. He has also performed in an acoustic rock ensemble that was the opening act for an internationally known Celtic punk band.

Schallehn has studied drumkit with Kenny Aronoff, Kenwood Dennard, Jim Chapin, Dom Famularo, Walfredo Reyes, Jr. and the late Larrie Londin. His hand percussion instructors include Richie Flores, Memo Acevedo, Brian Melick, Kalani, and Candido Camera. Bernie is proficient in congas, bongos, darbouka, shaker, tambourine, caxixi, cowbell, and guiro.

Bernie has experience in the recording studio, having guested on several CDs.

Schallehn plays Pearl acoustic drums, Hart electronic drums, Zildjian cymbals, and Latin Percussion congas and bongos.
